Interesting diesel hybrid

I am just sharing interesting link I found accidentally. This Beemer will be available in 3 years, 3-cyl diesel hybrid. I wonder if MB is working on diesel hybrids as well.

The body certainly is, well, busy, compared to my simple W123. I did not see any mention of price in the article. With the way the doors open, I am sure there is some pretty sophisticated and expensive structural magic going on.
