I fornd a gasket & filter readily available on line. I don't remember detail but remember that price varied a lot for the same brand.

well i found a gasket set at Advance Auto this morning and just got done doing that and putting new fluid in and there is zero change. there was nothing in the pan at all.

if i just sit there in gear and mash it to the floor the car will never move.

what i have noticed is that if i put it in gear and rev it up, then let off, once the RPMs come back down it sounds like the trans is up shifting. if i keep doing that it feels like it will eventually go into high gear and the car will start to move.

also after starting the car back up i saw a leak again. is there a vent on the top of the trans? i think that's where it's leaking from.

also i didn't drain the converter, so could putting too much fluid in not only cause it to leak out of the vent but also cause the issues i'm having?

Thumbs up

Does it actually drive when in 3rd or 4th? If not, sounds like a failed pump. If so, sounds like the friendly B2.

Do you have any way to check pressure? Need a banjo fitting and some hose with a pressure gauge.

Overfilled will cause cavitation, not what you want. If you are overfilled, drain the pan... reinstall drain plug... start the car... and see where the level is on the dipstick.

yea it'll cruise once in a higher gear. still slip under heavy acceleration but i can baby it.

i don't have a pressure gauge, i thought i saw an 1/8" pressure port on the side of the trans though. might have to hit up harbor frieght on the way home.

yea the fluid looked a little bubbly, i'll try doing that tonight and see what happens.

thanks a bunch!
