Picture of V10 diesel

This engine was for sale at Smokey Yunick's garage this past weekend. If you look close you can see the MB emblem on the valve covers.

MB V10 Diesel in the Dainish Dingo (2200 HP)

I am fairly sure the unit in the picture is the MB OM 403 about 16 Litres.

Take a look at the Dainish Dingo - powered by one of these units.
Mind you it does have 2200 HP.

Has to be the most powerful MB Diesel going.

Unless someone knows better.

Mind you it does have 2200 HP.
Take a look at the Dainish Dingo Site --

MAN! That engine must have unbelieveable torque! You'd probably twist the frame of your car apart with that thing!

I don't know what it was used for by Smokey but it was NOS - new old stock - it has never been used. They were asking $4000 for it. In addition to this car they had a Ford 427 hemi and a GM V6 hemi. This place was full of 60's, 70's and 80's engine development/experimentation, etc.. I remember reading articles by this guy back in the late 60's/early 70's in Popular Mechanics magazine. There was also a turbo charged Indy race car for sale - it was only from the engine back and about four large shelves full of various parts for it. Lot's of AirResearch turbos for sale.
