Looks decent to me. Maybe the engine has been swapped, so what? Its an old car. Green is not my color but I would buy it if I needed one.

The lower dash panels look like faded "olive" to me, so they're correct for the car.

I love a green interior (the main reason I bought my current wagon), but I can't say paisley goes with the spirit of a classic MB in my mind. Also a fan of this color combo, as you can see from my signature.

Those seats remind me of something my great grand mother had in her car back when I was really young. Everything she owned came out of the 1970s. I doubt her car was from the 70s back in the mid 1990s but she had flowery seats like that.

Either way I could see some heads turning at a GTG with those seats in that car.

YES. This deal is real. I live 5 miles north of Pittsboro and I have seen and sat in the car!

The guy selling this is a professional mechanic. He works on MB and Jags.

He has had this car for sale since last summer (summer of 2009).

The interesting thing about this was the the interior had to be ordered from Germany as well as the rubber molding around the rear bumpers.

The car is legit. PM me if you want more details.

I remember sitting in the car last summer and noticed how 'taxi-cab' ugly the seat coverings were.

Apparently, that is period-correct.

I also remember the seats were very 'smooth'

Probably decided to sell because he couldn't sit on those seats anymore and concentrate to drive at this same time.

Good to know. May be in for a road trip this weekend, if it's still for sale.

Somehow I would not be surprised if those seats are factory!

They remind me of the seats in my (now long gone) '72 Mercury Montego. I dig that car, but it's on the wrong side of the country for me.

I might make the trip up there (what's a couple hour drive for a quality 617 manual vehicle???)
Whats the big deal with adding a turbo to a non turbo engine? Callaway had a kit for the 240d back in the 80s to add a turbo to the non turbo engine.

Obviously this has to be the same car. Those seats certainly are one-of-a-kind!

Well, if it is at all helpful to you, the posted price when he had it for sale outside his shop was $7500. That was last summer.

In my opinion, he made a special effort to make it period-correct. The interior is indeed olive and the seat covers are proper. Ugly as it is in my opinion.

Worth a look. The name of the shop is "Dias Automotive". It is in Pittsboro NC just 20 miles west of Raleigh.
