25 mpg. Not as good as I would have liked. I was running 70-75 and it was quite windy. I'm sure the fat tires don't do anything to improve mpg either.

25 mpg in a diesel sucks.

I get 26 mpg in my V8 E430 going 90 mph on the freeway going to Las Vegas.

going that fast will kill the mileage. If I wanted good mpg's I drove speed limit.

if I wanted really good mpg's I did 55... and on many occasions driving 55mpg I attained 30mpg..

as you increase speed over 65mph the energy required to sustain speed doubles, so your fuel consumption will increase and thus crap mpg's. Plus the big tires really don't help

26 in your V8.. not fair.. I do like 65 in my E320 and I barely get 23.5

I'm not worrying to much over the mpg but I'm betting on the tires being a major contributor. My previous SDL would return 27-28 mpg with similar driving. I'll go through a few tanks and see what the average is.

This car is much tighter than my old one too. Has the solid W126 feel that I crave. Bushings on both UCA's are pretty worn out so replacing those should tighten up the ride even more. Turns out I had a brand new right side UCA on the shelf so I went ahead and bought one for the left side and will just swap out both along with new bushings this weekend.

good.. yeah the big tires are no help but they do allow the car to corner like a porsche.

I do think at least 205's can be put on all corners. Hatterasguy would know lol

mine would average about 23-25 but that was at 75 and there is not a flat road between my house and where I work at.

Nice weather is forecast for this weekend so I'm going to get a few things done on the new sled.

New upper control arms. Once done, front end should be good. Front left tire will need replaced soon due to excessive wear on the outside.

A diesel purge to see if I can chase away some minor nailing in a cylinder or 2.

The Accessory Belt Tension Dampner has a little buzz at the bushing where it attaches to the block. Rather than replace the whole thing I'm gonna try a trick my indy suggested and pop the bushing out, wrap some electrical tape around it, put it back in and see if that fixes it for a while.

Going to re-spray the grille screen black to fix where some of the paint has peeled off.

Got some rust in the trunk under the antenna to deal with also.

Keep me busy for a few hours.

Install new UCA's - check! No more squeaks when going over speed bumps

Diesel Purge - check! Nailing gone. Will see how long it lasts.

Tension Dampner Bushing tape trick - check! It worked. Will see how long that
lasts also.

Deal with rust in trunk - check! Used this stuff called Miracle Paint that I bought from Kent Bergsma a few years ago and forgot I had Works great.

One bummer. After finishing the UCA install my right rear parking brake would squeal whenever the car rolled. Must have done something when I mashed the parking brake pedal to the floor before jacking it up. Adjusting and cleaning didn't do much to silence the squeal. Well, turns out I had a new set of pads and springs in the garage so I decided to just replace the works. I spent 90 minutes trying to get the stupid keeper springs (or whatever they're called) installed through the side of the pads before I finally gave up in frustration. So, for now I only have parking brake pads on one side. I have no idea how I was able to accomplish this feat last time I tried but maybe it will come to me in a dream and I'll try again someday.
