Beware of the car pulling into the parking spot in front of you...
They just might back in to you without looking.
This happened to me yesterday. I waited for the Ford Expedition to pull in to a parking space in front of me at work yesterday morning. They were halfway in the spot or more when I decided to pass them. Although there was plenty of room to make a wide turn into the spot to pull in straight, she decided to back up and straighten herself out. Without looking behind her for pedestrians or vehicles, she backed up anyway and hit my driver side rear door. It looks like my deductible will be waived as she was more than 50% at fault and I can get this fixed at no cost.

Good cop / Bad cop
I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that I NEVER assume what some soccer mom in a Ford Excavator is going to do.
They think with that big hefty toddler tank wrapped around them, they are invincible. Sure, she was at fault, but why risk it? She could have punched it and you'd be in a little more hurt.

Sounds like both drivers need a basic course in driving and then a defensive driving course. Defensive driving reduces incident rates by a large margin. Thanks

Parking my TD in a crowded lot makes me as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Walmart is particularly bad. Over a year and a half, I've been hit twice by doors opening against my car. One time was so hard it not only bent the trim strip, but put a pretty good crimp in the door.
Now I park way out by myself. |

The way my luck runs, I would get caught in the crossfire when two CHL holders get in a gunfight following a door ding incident!!! |

If two CHL holders get into a gunfight over a door ding... then they should just finish each other off and we'll all be in better shape.

door greeter recently and he told me they experience 5 -6 shoplifting incidents DAILY. and, should you happen to experience loss to property or life while on Wally World's property, check out their 'company policy' concerning their responsibilities and YOUR responsibilities. they have well covered themselves on the legal side of things. |

But, since you apparently are familiar with Walmart policies, what are my responsibilities after I experience loss of life? Hopefully, I can at get a refund on my final purchase. Or at least a bereavement discount. Let's not twist a comment about poor marksmanship into something else entirely. Last edited by tangofox007; 03-03-2010 at 03:06 PM. |

I live in downtown Atlanta... Walmart is no mans land after sunset! (Yes, I am exaggerating a bit, but just a little.)

Agreed, been doing that for decades regardless of what car I'm in. It's become a habit.
