There are so many pics, when I have time Ill stitch them all together on a google map.

Here's one from today. Memorial Day atop Independence Pass, CO. 12k feet. I think the highest through road in the lower 48 ?. My ALDA is indeed working :-) - I made it up to the top burning WVO, with an untouched ALDA, and turbo at stock boost settings (2.88 diff to boot). If only I had my skis with me to join all the folks enjoying May 31st backcountry skiing...plenty of good snow left up there.

Paul - we did go down south, and we are turning back the northern route. We went through the gulf coast, to NM, then to Grand Canyon North Rim, then zig zagged Colorado. We are in Colorado Springs now and getting rady to take backroads across KS tomorrow.

Driving across country in a random fashion and meeting all the people who have supplied me grease has been nothing short of amazing. Ive ended up places I never would have gone otherwise.

Shawn - that is TOO weird.

We are now 330 miles away from home in PA...returning to Boston tomorrow.

5 weeks, 8000 miles. Not even a hint of a problem from the car till now with 300 miles to go (knock on zebrano for the last 330 miles - thats when something would go wrong, right?).

It clicked along and took on everything thrown at it...from 110 degree desert heat to climbing independence pass to 12k feet.

Used 22 gallons of petro-diesel for the 8000 miles...the rest on WVO using my Frybrid kit.

When I have some time Ill put some pics together, there are many to sort through.

If you are thinking of taking a long road trip in your old Benz DO IT (but do your PM first). So many thumbs up and waves and lots of people came over to talk about the car. Met so many cool people for my WVO pickups along the way.

Our next trip is already being planned :-)
