Retrofitting w201/124/126 Third Brake Light to w123
guys, i've recently been thinking of adding a rear sunscreen to the 123. i found a nice remote control one which is relatively easy to install and doesn't require a wire harness to be routed to the dashboard for an on/off switch
but that reminded me i was also planning on adding a third brake light like the one on my 190e. it occurs to me that the third brake light, which is about 5" in length on the bottom side, might get in the way of the sunscreen, but then again w126's had both sunscreen and third brake light. i'm thinking i can get both to fit in the same area now i know that the w201/w124 third brake light is shaped differently and sloped at a different angle than the w126 one. my question is which brake light would be better to try to retrofit to the 123 based on its rear windshield angle--the w126 style or the 201/124 style? and what is involved in terms of wiring--running a wire harness all the way to the brake lights i would imagine. if anyone's done this or knows of it being done and has a writeup or a link to it, post it up here.
