Cyl 1 - 405
Cyl 2 - 400
Cyl 3 - 400
Cyl 4 - 400
Cyl 5 - 365

The 5th cylinder being low is not the best, but with the engine cold, its not a "bad" number. I'm now happy I bought the engine.

I'll put it on a stand later this week and will begin cleaning it up. my goal is to get it clean and make sure there are no oil leaks. I've always dreamed of having a car that did not leak oil. and it seems that day may be here soon!
That's just way cool.

I like your quote above in bold.

The You Tube piece was just too funny! When the engine stopped, what did the fan blade hit?

You didn't waste any time getting a donor engine either. Glad it checks out on the compression tests.

Actually what you are looking for is for the lowest to be within 10% of the highest. You're right in there with those numbers. It's more often number one that's lowest, but that's more prominent on an earlier non turbo five.

Yeah the fan was just sitting on the fan clutch, it felt solid... but no bolts holding it, looks like someone may have tried to take it off because the pulley was only held on by one rounded off bolt. as soon as the engine came to life it shook loose.
