Thank you Phil & Roy: Reman axles are in

Just wanted to thank Phil and Roy for helping me out with the new axle install that I was planning. It didn't go as planned, because the axles I purchased off fastlane where an inch to long.

I was removing the old axles and installing the new once for about 4 hours before the new axles rolled over next to the old one and I noticed the new one was longer. LONGER BY AN INCH. I could have killed some random jogger that was running by at that point I was so mad. But after I calmed down, and took some pictures I called up Phil, and he paid to have the axles shipped back and I'm sure I'll get my refund soon. I know from running a business that things go wrong some times, and just wanted to post that you have a client for life Phil & Roy. For how you handled the issue at hand. Great job you guys are doing here.

I had my axles repaired and rebooted here in Austin and I just got done placing them on the car. I just have to wait 24 hours for the rtv to dry and I'll be putting my rear end differential Amsoil in and she will be ready to to go. I'm driving around in an Enterprise Pontiac Vibe (A.K.A. the coffin) for 4 days so I'm dying to get back into a real car.

Thanks also for everyone on the board that helped me out. Great community.

It is always good to hear about good service. I am/was planning on purchasing two axels from FastLane for my 84 300D, but I must say that I am now very apprehensive.

Please can you, or anyone else knowledgeable in this instance, clarify if the axels that you received were the wrong part number, (for a different model), or were they just plane too long, as in a manufacturing quality issue?

I am not worried about customer service making a problem right, just I do not want to have my car torn down and have to wait.

The axles where the part number he ordered on-line, but incorrect for his car due to a supplier database error (they have not fixed).
His car uses MB# 126 350 71 10

RE: your car.
1984 300D axle MB# 123 350 04 10
You must call "Phil" to order these.

Have a great day.
