For us here in NA, 1987 was the only year they were offered. Most of the rest of the world got them for nearly the entire model run.

Can you tell us more about the 5spd conversion? or is there a link where you talk about it in more detail? Also, what's updated about the hood (I'm new and unfamiliar with the nuances)

notice the painted area outside the grille on his wagon, and the fog lamp shape on it as well, compare it to this stock 87 front grille from an earlier post.

I'd love it but my I already bought my wife another car (she sadly doesn't love wagons)

I was looking for one for myself before I bought the SDL but I have that now

the headlights from a gasser/diesel 94/95 along with the hood swap right onto the wagon!

You're being a bit coy about explaining the 5 speed. You know that, right?

I was lucky to find a 86 E300 at my local pick a part I pull off every thing need it for the conversion and I said lucky because Mercedes only imported around 300 of this E300 in 1986. It can be done using parts from a 190E the only parts different in the 190 are the drive shaft and the transmission support and the flywheel has to be able to take a 9 inch clutch disc my is 9.5 no problems so far after almost two years

Pretty darn slick. Too bad that tranny seems like the unicorn of merc parts. I'd love to know how it feels to drive. The trans on this car is my least favored aspect of the car. But then again, out of 37 cars this is the 4th that has not had a manual trans. So maybe I just don't like slushboxes.

[QUOTE=warmseth;2957627]I'll resurrect this thread as I am a first time Benz owner and just got my hands on this little beauty. As soon as I lose the horrible chrome arches and wheels It'll be basically exactly what I was looking for!

Interested in your wheels.
