1983 300D Turbo A/C not blowing cold

Hey everyone, Im sure that there are a few of you that have had or are having this same issue.

I have a 1983 300D Turbo 123 that is running the R134 conversion with a new compressor, dryer and high/low pressure switch, blower, climate control unit, and all new vacumm pods. (These are the parts that I have changed or had my mechanic change)

Even when I have the system re-charged, it STILL only blows cooler air. Never cold.

I heard there was an ETR (Temperature Regulator) but no one can seem to find that part for me.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!

BG

I'll second that. Elvira, my 300CD still has R12 and blows COLD, even down here in humid, sub-tropic, South Texas. My wife's 300SD was converted to R134 years ago, at the suggestion of our mechanic - it was lame - several years later, we went back to R12 - it's fine now.

123guy, How are vent temps at idle with R12? Is there a big difference between moving and at idle?

The ETR is next to the blower motor under the PS kickpanel . It is a little box with a looping wire going into the evap. holder.

BTW, I recently refilled my r134a system in the 240D from empty, and I have had no complaints about the temp, even at idle so far this summer.

Of course it has been a mild one down here - high temp so far only near 95 with humidity steady at 50-75%
