Glacier National Park Sighting

I was in Glacier National Park this weekend and saw a Mercedes Camper (309D?) on the Going To The Sun Road.

Was it anybody here?

better than that -any griz (bear) sitings? There is a 309 non camper available for sale in the Northbay -love the idea of converting it to a camper!

A little early in the season to be fattened up. The deer also look emaciated after the winter.

That's a nice shot of that grizzly! You're very fortunate to have seen one, especially from a nice safe distance. The wife and I traveled all over the US last year (in my '83 300), visiting Glacier, Yellowstone, Banff, Grand Teton and several other places where one is likely to encounter a bear but we didn't see a single one. Our closest animal encounter occurred when we practically tripped over a mountain lion in Big Bend! That was a little too close for my taste...

These parks with significant predators can be dangerous if you do not take precautions or know the facts of survival. It is best to take in a lecture before you proceed if you are unsure of what to do when sighting predator animals.

Also, never let your guard down. While we were there a woman slipped on a bridge and fell into the river and went over the falls. They found her underwater under some rocks the next day. Just a walk in the park and a loss of concentration. Sad happenings.

Not really. It's too early. The Going To The Sun Road was not fully plowed yet so there was about 15 miles not accessible.

Many Glaciers area was very nice as well as St Mary, but the Most spectacular scenery is from the GTTS road from the west entrance.

My son got married at the Lake Macdonald Lodge on Saturday. Best day of the stay. On a pebbled point next to a stream and the mountains in the background. Quite a pretty venue.
