85 300D shut off vacuum line

Hello, I just bought my 2nd 300D i has a few issues, one of which is that it wont shut off and the hose coming off the fuel shut off is hanging free. where does it plug into and if I apply vacuum to it it should kill the engine unless the actuator is bad right? thanks

That line, brown/violet, should go to the ignition switch. Yes, if you apply vacuum, it should shut the engine off if it's good.

One tool which is gonna be a huge help is something like a MightyVac.

You might want to add your MB and mileage to your signature block too.
