Hope this is the right place to post this?


So i have a 87 190D 2.5 Turbo, and my transmission has been giving me some problems the last few days and i could use some help!

The problem is when the trans shifts into 4th it will not do any thing except rev up but if i am going down a hill and shift from N to D it will rev up like its downshifting but will not do any thing except rev up.

I have checked the fluid and the lines coming from the trans to the modulater but they all seem fine.

What else should i check?

And whats wrong with my transmission???

According to the ATSG manual, the ONLY thing that ONLY is active in fourth is your K2 clutch. Sadly, getting to it is a major affair.

In theory it could also be a valve body problem. Any history, or did it just "pow" start on, say, Saturday?

Haha it did start on Sat. before that there was no problems at all.

The transmission also has 218.000 miles.

Hi,

I rerad your problem and am having the same issues with my non-turbo, 2.2. 1st and 2nd work fine but no 3rd gear. Had the modulator replaced last week and it worked great, but now having the same problem again, less that 20 miles.

Did you find a remedy?

Any elp would be appreciated!
