85 ac box from under dash
Hello -I got the ac box ripped out from under the dash of the 85 parts car and am wondering if there are any 85 model differences on it than the earlier yrs-theres so many little things different on other things on the 85's-if I have to get rid of it are there any small parts I might need for the driver, thanks.

If this is a 1985 300D (not 300SD) then there were no changes in the climate control that I learned about when I had an '85 300D. AFAIK, the earlier versions of ACC-III were the same as the last version.
If this is a 1985 300SD then I know nothing about them.

OK what is the difference between auto climate control and manual climate control-what does a 85D have and where is the temperature sensor located?

Cars sold in USA from 1982 through 1985 almost always had automatic climate control (ACC-III). Earlier 300D W123s had ACC-II (the notorious "servo" system). European-sold 300Ds and many 240Ds worldwide had the "manual" ACC-I that many people prefer for simplicity and reliability reasons and a few people have retrofitted in place of the automatic system.
As to the temperature sensor, there are several and you will have to be more specific, except that you probably don't know enough to ask the right questions and I am off to a meeting and don't have time to educate you. Maybe someone else can list the sensors or I can do so later. Sorry to be short with you, busy day. Jeremy
