Transmission leak - behind NSS
My '85 300TD appears to be leaking from behind the neutral safety switch.
I suspect a seal. The pan liner isn't leaking. What is the seal called behind the NSS? Does replacement require dropping the transmission? Are there any other possibilities where this leak could be originating?

It could be the shift shaft seal, or it could be (as on my car) the B2-reaction-piston seal. The shift shaft is easee peasee from the outside. The reaction seal requires dropping the valve body. Both can be done in the car.

The B2-reaction-piston seal appears dry.
Is there a DIY on the shift shaft seal? I hate to wing it on this type of job.

I don't see the shift shaft seal listed in the on-line catalog.
Would it be called something different?
