300 CD conv.

I was just brwosing around and found a 1982 300CD conv. White with a blue top. They want 79k for this puppy. Its on autotrader but a cant put up a link because i'm a poor old farm boy with no education. Anyway they claim that it's one of two and it is sweet! Is this horse crap or the real deal!!! If so It would be sweet to hear the crackle with the top down!!!

YOUR MAN POTS AND PANS,

JP

Wow, for $79K you could buy a mint CD, pay someone to convert it to a convertible, and still have cash left over to buy a new Benz.

For $79,000, I would buy two, (or three), really nice 1970 convertibles. That much money would also buy something truly spectacular like two ponton convertibles. Or two 190sl. Maybe I would buy one ponton convertible and take my whole family to Hawaii. I can't imagine the appeal for the 300CD cabriolet even if it is 1 of 2. If someone else wants to go for it, I won't stand in their way.

Or a S400 CDI .
Why would anyone do this? The W123 body is already heavy, so lets just go make a convertible and add 300 lbs.
Also it doesn't even look nice. I don't get why people make convertible's out of cars that are not supposed to be convertible's.

I wonder what they did with the gas tank, or does the top sit on top of everything, imparing ones view?
