Hateful oil cooler line job done!

I am a new member here and have spent ALOT of time reading back posts on this forum. Out of all the Benz forums, this seems to be the best one out there. I decided to replace the oil cooler lines on my 83 300TD, and am glad to say they are done and do not leak. They kicked my rear end I have to say. I went ahead and just cut the steel fittings off the oil cooler with a saw to avoid galling the threads. I would recommend that anyday to avoid messing up the threads, when working at night without another cooler on hand! Anyway, glad I did it and have piece of mind about those hoses. They were the original ones, and looked fine, but they do not last forever. Better to replace now as cheap insurance. Attached a picture of our wagon. I really like this car! Too bad my wife drives it and not me.
