2004 S320CDi Odd Noise when turning left

Hello

Sorry to double post, but I have put this in the tech help section too, but thought I might get more of a response in the diesel area.

My Dad has a 2004 S320CDi, just recently, there is a noise from the rear right of the car, when turning left. It is a on/off on/off squeaking noise.

We have taken it to the local Mercedes dealer and they say they can hear it too, but they can't work out what it is. They have checked the wheels, the suspension and the brakes.

I thought it might be something to do with the fuel system, but I'm really after any advice at all.

Thanks again
Ollie

brakes hitting the rotor? can you see any fresh metal to metal wear? a audible Squeaking may also have to do with a rear suspension component, I dont know anything about that model of car, but I hope my ideas have some validity

Thanks for the advice. I'll have a check over. The mechanics say they have checked it all over, but I suppose they might have missed something.

I don't think it happens while braking, it is just when turning left. Very strange.

I don't know how the fuel pump works, but I thought maybe when turning left, the fuel in the tank might move around and the noise is the fuel pump trying to pump fuel from the tank.

I'll post back if we find out what it is.

Thanks again
Ollie

Does it have a mechanical limited slip differential?

I'm not sure if it does. I'll have to check.

Thanks
