The alternator will fit the engine bracket but you will need to change the pulley from the V belt on the gasser to a 6-groove serpentine of the OM 603 engine. You will need to concious of the position of the pulley respective to the alternator to maintain it in the same plane as the other pulleys, there are usually some washers to do that, pay attention as you take the pulley off the old alternator and you should be all right, good luck!

You might want to do more than just a 560 upgrade -
Installed a 143A alternator in my W124 (86-95E-class) - with photos Sixto 87 300D |

Great, thanks.
I found a 90a 560 alternator rebuild on ebay for about 100 delivered, seller has good feedback and a return policy.. |

ML alternators fit...
You can snap up a 150amp from an ML430 for $75 if you shop around, or a 120 amp from an ML320 for about $40 if you shop around.

That would be a waste of time. Get one from a V8 powered W140, they are around 143-150A depending where you purchase. I have had one on my SDL for years.
