Reman CCU for 95 e300d?

95 e300d 254,000.
I've put 4 different climate control units in this car. I purchased the current one from Potomac German Auto two years ago. I bought it used - not remanufactured. Has anyone had any luck with the $300 remanufactured CCUs?

What doesn't work that causes you to replace it?

I got one for the 87 SDL. It was from George Murphy, IIRC. It worked well for as long as I had the car.

servo

Temp servo decides to disregard my setting. I pretty much have to keep it deep in the red to not freeze to death.

Conner, make sure that the tiny fan which pulls air through the grating in the light unit up near the rear view mirror is working. That fan lives up in the dash, passenger side, behind the airbag I think.

I know that on my car, if I aim the right center vent up to that grating, my CCU temperature dial is much more accurate and the system seems more responsive. Of course if I have a passenger, that's not always easy :-).

Otherwise I set the temp by feel and not by the number on the dial, but it still adjusts things automatically.

Rgds,

Check your internal temp sensors and the fan that pulls air across it.
