'87 300D Memory Seat

How do I kill it?

When we first got the car, it tried to kill us.
You'd be blasting down the highway and suddenly, the column would extend while the seat moved forward and the backrest pressed you into the steering wheel. Unpleasant and dangerous.

SO, I unplugged the motors under the seat, pulled the fuse for the memory, and, using jumper wires, permanently set the seat in one position.

I really would like to power the seat adjustment motors and switches while not activating the memory function.

I could spend a good deal of time with a wiring diagram, but I'll bet one of you knows how to do it.

TIA

Paul
