30 and 31

I have two. One is a parts car now. So that makes 31 here. That blue one with black interior is awesome looking. Best one i've seen i think.

What are good sized wheels to make it easy to roll under the car to change the oil and check things out? I think i have 195/65 R15 on there now.

mine.

it has a little over 300,000 kms. it's been painted and updated to look like a later model, this was done by the previous owner. it's in very good condition overall, and i keep it well maintained. looks a bit worse for wear at the moment especially since we drive it in winter and it's brutal on cars. everything on the engine mechanically is original as far as i can tell. original head for sure and i don't think the engine has ever been touched except the vacuum pump is new, and timing chain. i have done a fair bit of preventive and other maintaining, rear wheel bearings, completely rebuilt the front and rear suspensions. i am going to replace the fuel injectors soon, it runs well but they probably need doing. it's been a great car and i intend on keeping it for many more years.

I mounted 225/50-16s first, but as I have maximized the offset to keep the wheels/tires inside the fenders, ... the tire was just too close to the front strut for my comfort (almost certain that hard-cornering deflection would cause contact).

Doing it over, I would probably go 5mm less offset (pic of 225s on the '95): 16x8 ET40 Fit 124 (photos)

The offset was necessary to clear the original front fender lower cladding on the '90-up 124s (except 500E).

If PunkinFair is #32, this might make me #33 in the list.

I have a Burgundy and palomino 87 purchased under 1500$. If we added up the receipts, we have probably doubled that with new brakes, tires, alternator, battery, maintenance items, etc.

FWIW: Need a left rear door panel assembly.

I was told that the W124 touring wagon had different rear doors than the sedan. I will have to test this directly myself.

Can anyone else confirm?

Add me to the list.

and yes I think the Sedan rear doors are different from the wagon. the wagons appear longer, with a more square top.

I have two of each, and one of the D's is a parts car... I'll stick them side by side and compare.

The wagons have the rear speakers in the door so the interior panels would be different. Unless the sedan has the speakers there too.

The wagons have different rear inner door panels.

The sedan has no speaker in the armrest, wagon has a speaker.

The sedan has a more square cut on the top rear edge, the wagon rear edge is cut at a slight angle for more clearance at the 1/4 window base.

The rear doors are the same below the windowsill, but the 1/4 window on the wagon is wider at the top than the one in the sedan door, not even a close fit there.

That's it.

The wagon panel will fit a sedan, I've never tried a sedan panel on a wagon.

I think I'll move the diff topic to a separate thread for better flow of the wagon count.
