300TDT tranny update

In and earlier thread, I posted about the used tranny slipping when it was installed. The Salvage yard sent me a can of BG transmission additive gratis. Said I will need to drive it a day or two to see improvement. Takes off in first just fine, but when it moves to 2nd and 3rd, there is a hesitation before it engages. Could this possibly be the modulator. If so, how difficult is it to change. I still have the one off the old tranny.

If it's slipping it's probably toast. I would still try messing with the modulator to make the best of it, if you use the adjustment on the modulator you can stiffen up the shifts to make up for slippage. Assuming it really is slipping, not sure what you meant by "hesitation".
