Wipers stop immediately when turned off
I know the title is weird. Couldn't really figure out how to word it.
When I shut off the wipers, they stop even if they're half way through their cycle. Obstructing my view. So gotta turn them on and off until they land away from view. Is this a simple fix? digi

I don't know how easy, but it's probably a broken or dirty sensor in the motor that detects the motor is in the parked position.

My vehicle (1978 240D) exhibited this behavior, coupled with a loss of intermittent wiper (had to turn the wiper wand to the third setting in order to get them to work at all). A replacement wiper wand from the junkyard solved my problem, for what it's worth.

Typically the park circuit malfunctions in the wiper motor and the delayed power shut-off feed is no longer delayed until the wipers return to "park" position. You may be able to take the motor out to inspect it, but more than likely, park issues are resolved with replacement of the motor.
