W124 602 Timing chain R&R procedure question

Hello,

I need to change the timing chain on my 1991 W124 602 . I have all the tools... but I would like some real life input on procedure...

1) I will be using the timing chain retainer at the cam gear

- Do I need to remove the timing chain tensioner or do I just cut the old chain and carefully wrap the new one down arround with everything tensioned ?

Any other tips or input would be greatly appreciated

thank you
