engine revs up when shut down??
My previous issue was the engine woulds not shut off. Fixed that (several vac leaks)
Now, when the engine is shut off it momentarily rev's up before shutting down. My tach does not work but I would estimate 1000 rpm Does not rev up on its own when in neutral, returns to idle quickly when reved up (on purpose) and I made no adjustments prior to this development Any thoughts? If your vacuum system is in proper order, than the next best guess is the electronic idle control.

I do not know how you would test this but you have a Vacuum Shutoff Valve on the Steering Colum Lock that is actuated when you turn the key.
Maybe you could test it by applying Vacuum from a different source than the Vacuum Shutoff Valve on the Steering Colum to the Vacuum Shutoff Valve on the Fuel Injection Pump. If it does the same thing when not connected to the Vacuum shutoff Valve on the Steering Colum; it is a issue with the Vacuum shutoff on the IP, Linkages or the IP itself. If the problem dissapears there is a good chance it is the Vacuum Shutoff Valve on the Steering Colum.

What happens when you use the lever on the IP to STOP the engine? Same thing, or better?
