Fuel prices

What's the range that everyone is paying these days for diesel?

The prices around me range anywhere between 3.35 to 4.15 in Fairfield County, CT.

Paid $3.60-ish for B20 biodiesel a week or so ago here in Northern California; D2 is about $3.30.

Wally's (Murphy Oil) sells D2 for $2.939 here in NE Okla, but then we have several refineries in the general area. Also there is very little use of home heating oil, as most of the urban areas are on natural gas. Even those in the rural areas will trend toward propane as the home heating fuel. All of these factors make quite a bit of difference.

About £5.50 a gallon in the UK - that's about $8.50

$3.05 here in coastal South Carolina. Ridiculous! I hate to complain because so many folks are getting ripped off on home heating oil that they really need.

When RUG and diesel were at their highest price two or three years ago I read a great article in Automobile magazine about "The Tipping Point of Fuel Prices". The gist of the article was, that in conjunction with the looming economic downturn, at what price would fuel really start to negatively impact peoples lives. Making them deciding what they could do without vs driving their cars or for some, not driving at all. Then $4.00 for RUG was the tipping point.
It looks like those in control of the supply are again probing to see where today's tipping point is. $4.00 a gallon gasoline and even higher diesel prices will be devastating to people already struggling to make ends meet with the unemployment rate at 10%.
In the Cleveland area diesel jumped from $3.09 to $3.17 to $3.38 in less than 30 days. Diesel is currently $.50 per gallon higher than RUG.

From what I've seen around the country recently, diesel is staying around $3.20.

B5 $3.37, B100 $4.17, Diesel, local rag head was $3.54, then dropped it to $3.49 yesterday. mostly it is $3.37 to $3.49. I do see a Vallero station over in Milpitas at $3.69 .

A week ago I "happily" paid $3.29 at Safeway in Lakewood, WA after a 0.10/gallon discount, having seen as high as $3.55 or so.

A little later in the week I checked the only Bio station I know of, APP in Fife, and decided that they were joking when they claimed to be selling B99, as they really wanted to keep it all. Priced it at $4.75/gallon!
