Thumbs up Wherein I blow my mind with a 300d

I just made the greatest buy of my life in a long-distance deal (about a year after I swore never again, after the worst buy of my life landed in my driveway from Cali).

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220695025274&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

It's so fine, it's sublime. The rear springs haven't even begun to flatten out, let alone sag. The trunk looks unused. There isn't even grit under the carpet sections.

Man I feel great. Unfortunately it now has to wait until spring to get the fender/door/etc. done and put it on the road.

Have you got it on your drive now? That looks like a fun project and well worth the effort. Congratulations. Why wait until the spring? Rent a garage!

Yes it arrived last Saturday, with great anticipation on my part as my decision to purchase was based more on my gut response to my private messages with the eBay vendor, than the pics (though he had sent me some additional, they were all done with an iPhone so the quality was not what I might have liked).

It was owned by an older gentleman, then willed to the family that accidented it.

The damage isn't that serious. The tub does have a small gash, and the A pillar will need some work. But other than that it's just a bolt-off, bolt-on repair and I already have a door from my 240d parts car.

I WISH I could get a bay but they are pretty much unobtainable here except for dead storage (and those are only large enough for the car, no room to work). I did years ago have a rented work bay but there is now a shortage of commercial buildings for auto work in my area and rents have become prohibitive.

Sweet deal on that one! Mount Laurel is about an hour from me. Looks like yours had a good home there.

Thanks. I'm still pinching myself in disbelief.
