What happened to all of the on line MB service manuals?

I used mb.auto.pl/8-dokumentacja.html online manual in the past. It helped me with the 220D. Is there a different link for a online manual now? Thanks!

I did a forum search and all the online service manuals I checked were offline. Is there not any online manuals? Is this a question that I should not be asking? Anything would be helpful. Thanks

NO.

Mercedes Benz LEGAL department has become very aggressive shutting down criminals hosting illegal software.

We do not allow "warez" software.
As our forum rules say:

X2 Roy,
This forum doesnt need a visit from a MB legal person.
I think you can buy them from various places.

If it is related to legally accessing or buying Mercedes service data, you should find it here...

I agree that its a good thing they're offline.

Legal manuals directly from Mercedes are only $20, so why bother stealing such a useful and cheap resource?
http://www.classictechlit.mbusa.com/
http://www.mercedesmanuals.com/

Once you have the CD you can copy it to your hard drive and use the HTML page somebody made so you don't need to wade through the Flash. If somebody wants a copy of the index I can e-mail it, its a few KB too big to attach as a .zip file here.
Flash drives are really cheap now, even a $4 one will hold several CD's worth of manuals so you can use them away from home.

IMHO the value of a CD is precisely zero.

Now, give me a proper manual printed on decent paper that I can scribble notes in, read in the toilet, or prop on the air filter housing, and it is actually worth something.

The Haynes book for the W124 is actually quite good, and in my opinion vastly superior to the MB CD.

The "online" versions of the MB CD floating around for the W124 are all incorrect for the euro 124 for example, it doesn't list the 603.912 lump at all.

Totally agree!!! All my CD manuals, not limited to MB, have been printed to hard copy & bound. You get fed up with goo-ing up the key board with greasy fingers.
Had to put the key board in a plastic bag to keep it clean. I have had more mouses than Roys had mobile phones.

There was a secret insider tip regarding Haynes manuals in the days before CD's.

Without fail, every time you went to look at a used car to buy privately, you said "You know, I'd buy this but I need a shop manual for it, if you had the Haynes I'd buy it off you at new price."

If they had one, they would whip it out in 30 seconds flat.

You then thumbed through it and looked for pages with oily thumbprints, those were the jobs that had ACTUALLY been done to the car, as opposed to what the seller claimed had been done, and claimed what problems the car did / not have.

The number of times I did that, then found oily pages on say the camshaft, then inspected the car and found a problem that the seller had botched, hoping to shift the car on.

The flipside was I bought a lot of cars very cheap, with zero service history, but good home mechanics that had done every job well, again highlighted by oily pages in the manual.

The good ones always wrote handwritten notes on the appropriate page in the manual of what they had done.

Buy the CD, a printer and a stack of paper. Problem solved.

Haynes is made by hacks that take stuff apart and write what they see, the FSM was written by the people that made the car.

Sounds like much of what is written on here Forced !

I am sure you will agree that Haynes manuals have their place.

Maybe you have a different use for it than our friend from the UK in the little room !!

You would agree Haynes has probably got more DIY guys out of trouble than into it?
Thanks for your vote of confidence in my method of hard copying a CD. I regularly print the required page or 2 & take them to the car. I guess the pages could end up any place when you are done with them.

Making notes on a hard copy is a good idea. A pdf editor program is a bit expensive.
