transmission identification
is there a easy way to tell whether i have a 722.416 or if i have a 722.303?
i need to order a new neutral safety switch and trans shifter bushings for my 1982 300sd. fastlane shows the switch for those two trannys for my year/model. i searched. thanks.

You have a .3. The .4 was only used in 1985.

The 722.4 is nice...I swapped one into my 300SD when the 722.3 died....shifting is much less....violent. So far 25k+ and counting with 0 issues.

Did you use a .416? Is it a direct fit or did you have to change anything? My 85 300sd .303 trans is bad.
