Well I drive a 1984 190D 2.2, it's my daily driver, I use it more than the Grand Cherokee because I like it better.

Hey, where did barndoor go? Maybe he got tired of our love-fest!!
I got an 82 300D (t) 5 months ago. This thing had the soot beaten out of it! But, within 2 weeks it was in good enough condition to replace my Pontiac as my daily driver. Poor old Pontiac; just couldn't compete with the big old benz!

180k and getting stronger every day.

1970 220D, 200k mi. 3rd generation owner, I've had it since 1992. Summer time, road touring car. daBenz is allergic to salt and Interstates. Carries me about 600 mi per day in complete reliability.

I drive my 84 300D turbo every day. On average i put about 15,000 miles a year. Sometimes more. It's got 184000 miles right now. Doesn't use any oil. I changed to monovalve so the climate control works like a charm now. Best thing about it? I bought it for $3000 back in 95. It only had 120,000. It was my second car for the longest time till I decided to race my mustang. I tell you what, after driving a race preped mustang on the street, the Benz feels like driving on a cloud. It's solid, gets 25 mpg and everything works. After I change the rear axles, I should go another 184,000 with no problems. Oh, ya. I also put a high end stereo in it so I get even more enjoyment out of it. I've driven to L.A., Tahoe, everywhere in it. No problems. I would drive it anywhere.

We've got two.

As of this week, we have two. My wife is driving the 87 300E, and I am driving a 79 300D as our daily drivers.

Talking LOOK!! No Leaks!!

This is the engine in the 79 300D. It's a factory rebuilt with a 4 year warranty. Took it for a drive yesterday, now I have 3200 miles on the engine, 262,000 on the car.
