300D in tow lot middle tn

A tow lot driver is keeping an eye out for MBZ for me. He has a 300D that will be too much of a project for me. Roof paint is bad. Rust at least above DR rear wheel. Engine covered in oil. Interior palomino tex probably will clean. Air filter & piping in place so turbo is probably there. Car was abandoned at a storage place & towed. The lot owner priced it to me @ $500 - what he thinks a yard would pay. Send a PM & I'll let anyone here know where it is.

u better off buy from a owner with more history & details, reason being it probably had been neglected, ran down to the solly state.
So for 5 bills u could be needing a new engine, trans, brakes and many small items.

One car I bought 300d turbo, it needs brakes, master cyl. and several small items.
If i didnt have access to a parts car i would be really out, it the end the car didnt net me a lot of dough.

I'm going on the expectation that I can determine if the car is in decent shape. This one obviously needs more work than I am willing to put into it so I passed & offered it here in case it will help someone. If the body were decent, I would have done more investigating.

$500 is what the guy can get for it from a yard. I would buy it for parts if it were an SD - but it isn't. It is usually better to pay more for something in good shape than it is buy cheap trash. Then again, many POs are such poor mechanics that their work has to be re-done making the maintenance useless.
