Windshield wiper problem

On my E 300 diesel (1995) the wipers have a mind of their own.
The continous run on both medium and high will work but the wiper
will not "park" right. On intermitten it may work while cold but
get out of order soon after it is turned on. It will also not "park" right when it is turned off. The washer works fine. Does the washer motor have a control module or is it built into the motor itself? Does the control switch on the steering wheel mount control it? If so how does it come apart?
Thanks for any info!

seems I always have an issue!

Is it doing a full sweep?

If someone's been inside the housing, the arm may not have been "clocked" correctly.

It does a full sweep except on intermitten! On intermitten it may work for a while but then it may make only 1/2 sweep or less and "park" whereever it stops. It may stay there or make another partial sweep at some time or other. On medium speed and high speed it may "park" anywhere on the windshield not necessarly at the bottom of the whinshield on the drivers side.

I think it is the combination switch/stalk. You can try to blow some air into the base of the stalk or some contact cleaner. They just wear out over time. My E320 only works part time and also noted that the flash to pass feature is not always working. Eventually your directional signals may also fail.

I believe each of these cars are the final production year for that model.
