That's not a leak... (in my best crocodile dundee voice...) that's a VEEEERRRRY minor seep...
keep an eye on it each oil change, and maybe every fillup, but I'd not concern myself with that. keep in mind, it will start leaking more.

the vp oil could be from anyplace on the motor, likely the valve cover gasket.

I'd guess the thing on the left is a 93 volvo station wagon... possibly a 740?

OK. That makes me feel better. I have been keeping a very sharp eye on it. The car does need a valve cover gasket, as well as the a valve adjustment, since we have put about 16,000 miles on the car since we got it.

As far a the Volvo goes, it is a 4 cylinder (turbocharged), it is from the '90s (newer than '93, though), and it isn't a 700 series. We bought it used in '97.

The oil around the vacuum pump looks like an accumulation of oil and dirt from many years. I wouldn`t be concerned about it.

I have come across several grey mkt cars in the yards (PNP) and have never seen that thing under the air cleaner.

If that was my car, I would run it down to the 25¢ car wash with a pocket full of quarters and power wash the engine. then you can see if you have any leaks or will be able to see any new ones.

Wow!! it just hit me, this is a Euro, with a 617 and 5 spd. I didn`t pick up on this when I first read this a couple days ago.

first thing I noticed was the euro fuel lines, when looking at the oddball EGR pic then read the sig line about the 5 speed... mine is only a 4 speed, but my 240 is a fiver... I may flip flop them soon...
oh, feel free to remove and plug off that thing by the way, for diagnostic purposes only of course... it does nothing good for the engine. be sure and replace it when you are finished evaluating the engine if you have diesel emissions inspections in your county...

Here in Georgia, cars older than 25 don't have to have emissions tests. I think diesels are also exempt. This, combined with the fact that if you pull the air cleaner lid and look in the intake manifold there is a large buildup of soot, means that I will probably remove it at some point.

Thanks for all the advise by, the way. I was worried that I was getting near a total failure of my oil cooler lines for a little bit.
