Are Turbos Interchangable

I have read a lot of threads but have not found an answer to this question.

I have a AiResearch T3. In the process of replacing the bearings, I snapped the shaft. Now my choices are to buy a new shaft and install it myself, send it out and have it rebuild with a new shaft, or buy a used turbo and replace it.

If I buy a used turbo, (there is a member parting out a 300D OM617) How can I know if it will fit without modification?

Attached is a picture of the turbo compressor housing. I have the old turbo in apart.
