Broke top of instrument gauge plexiglas from housing....
OK, while trying to get into the instrument gauge housing to place the right size vacuum lines on the new steering lock, I pulled a little to hard on the top and the clear glass part separated from the black housing. I"m thinking of using a little super glue to glue it back to the housing.....will it work??

I recently did the same thing while trying to pull it out to get to the wires behind it. I've been told by my experienced MB friend that superglue is fine for repairing, and I plan to do that, very carefully.

A gently push from the rear after removing the lower panel mitigates this - more push, less pull. Wear goggles, since there's decades old crumbling fabric and dust.
Also, on reinstall a cereal box/waxed cardboard "shim" to keep the felt insulation from grabbing at the wires and the top of the cluster helps make it easier. Imagine a shoe-horn. |

Does this help it seat all the way back in?? I've never seen a cluster that doesn't look like it's been pulled. Mine have all had the slightest lip sticking out... I'm gonna have to try this.
