Trouble Installing Door Lock Actuator
Hello Everyone,
I started to replace the door lock actuators as a precautionary measure during a major cleaning today. Does anyone have advice as to how to screw the vertical metal rod into the actuator? It refuses to go in as far as the original factory position. I can't seem to figure out what is preventing such a simple procedure. After about 1/8 inch it just turns and turns. I have tried with the actuator bolted in and out. I also had a terrible time removing the rod from the original. Ended up cutting the plastic. |

I doesn't "screw." Open the "latch" on the plastic connector and open it up, insert the rod, then snap the connector closed.
Or, depending on the make of actuator, there might be a sliding collar involved. |
