w123 euro headlamps

I'm thinking about swapping by North American spec headlamps for Euro lamps.

I saw a set on Ebay, does anyone know if these are any good?

They are not original. Just after market stuff. The early (up to about 82) 300D's had one design, after that they used the same lights as the 280E, the front fenders are different on the early ones & the newer lights dont fit properly. My 2 300D's are one of each & not interchangeable. I dont know what fenders you guys have on the USA cars.

Hmm interesting.

My w123 is a 300d is an 85 euro import so fenders shouldn't be a problem.

I'd like to upgrade to euro style for the look but also the better light output.

Most of the original OEM euro lamps forsale are not in great shape being 25+ years old.

Should I be looking at Bosch or hella? Does anyone know where to find those?

Sure is,, WTF was I thinking? Mine were actually labeled Lucid, with Depo clear corners. They were marked Depo on the inside though.

@Ya, keep searching Ebay and on here, the original Bosch ones come up from time to time. IIRC, you can still get the lenses if one is cracked. Main thing is that the reflectors are in good shape.

Okay cool, good to know. I may go with the Depo's though since they would be a improvement over the DOT compliant sealed headlights I currently have!

The Bosch ones seem pricey.

I won't go back to the other lights. I can see so much better with these than the US stockers. I had Hella H3 fog bulbs first, but they didn't last long. I have PIAA now.

I hate buying OEM euros, because of the reflectors, seals, and lenses. Hella > bosch IMO...
