617 overflow bottle hose

After replacing the overflow bottle hose because of seepage at the radiator, I've noticed just the slightest bit of dampness at the bottom of the run from the bottle to where it clamps down (by the aux pump). Found it was coming from the hose top (barb/nipple on the overflow bottle) and running down the pipe.

Fiddled with it today and got sprayed.

How far up does the hose need to be seated on the bottle. There is a ring about 1-2mm from where the nipple comes from the bottle. Does the hose have to be up over that?

On the road now and have about 500mes ahead of me the next two days. Don't want to loose my coolant

Im using a new MB Zdbra clamp on there, BTW.

Thanks!

Do you mean the reservoir with a pressurized cap or a bottle outside of the pressurized system?

Seems that pulling it over the upper bump (hoe needs to be AT the body of the tank) did the trick... I think.

Doesn't answer??? Since when is there multiple options on a 617 in a w123?

It is a pressurized vessel on the p/s fender, the standard tank that you fill the radiator up with.

Ok, you're right... There is an overflow hose but no bottle. Let's just say the plastic bottle that has the radiator cap and you fill the radiator from.

The one that gets fluid and pressurizes when the system heats up.

actually, there is an overflow hose that is connected to the radiator cap... it dumps onto the ground. I route that hose to a G-05 bottle so I get overflow protection of the pricey fluids. the hose connected to the bottle from the radiator itself is a vent tube. only air/steam is supposed to flow through it...

There are two - a small one to the top of the radiator for venting and a larger one to the bottom of the radiator.
