1987 300SDL Question
Can someone tell me how the crankcase ventilation works on a 1987 300 SDL. The reason I am asking is that I allways see oil around and outside of the filler cap. The gasket looks good, but still loosing oil.
Suggestions and comments welcome.

The breather stuff is within the valve cover... then the tube runs to the turbocharger intake boot. Pretty simple.
You need to replace the gasket on the filler cap. Looks are deceptive.

How much pressure should be on the valve cover cap if I remove it while the engine is running? Can someone give me an idea?

you should be able to take the cap on and off without fear of it blowing out of your fingers.
Report back on this. You may have blowby. DDH

Isn't the pinhole along the valve cover aft of the crossover pipe part of the PCV system?
