123 vacuum line question
Aloha all.
I have an 85 300 td wagon I have noticed that there is a rubber connector which is mounted on top of the valve cover which has six holes to plug vacuum lines into it but only two lines actually connected . I am not sure which holes these two lines should go into. Can anyone help with this? ( And also tell me why the six holes on the connector....) Thanks so much! I can't say for sure why there are 6, but based on the trouble finding a perfect diagram match it appears that each year/model had their own unique vacuum set ups.
The Central Block on top of the valve cover is affected by/affects EGR and some will say it's completely unnecessary. However, the vacuum system is a balance of controlled leaks, so simply removing it may affect how the tranny shifts. Look for the vacuum stickies, match your car up as best you can and decide to leave it, remove it, or put the lines back where they were. Here's a start, there are others: Vacuum Diagrams Definitive '83 Fed 300CD vacuum thread |
