Did I screw up on these brakes?
I purchased a power bleeder since I have not been able to get the air out of my 97 e300d brake lines. I had it up to 18 lbs. I took off the brake pads because there was also a high squeal when brakes were applied.
I forgot to take off the power bleeder and /or release the pressure so when the brake pads were taken off the caliper piston came all the way out leaking brake fluid al over. My question is did I ruin the caliper and its seal by doing this or can I release the pressure and push the piston back into position? If I can push it back is there any technique for doing this like a twist of some sort or does it just get pushed all the way back so that I can put everything back together. Thanks |

I would put new or professionally rebuilt calipers on your car after that...
They should be fine for core's.... Have you checked on the price of replacements ? Brakes are not something to take chances or be excessively frugal with...
