85 300SD driveshaft same as 82 300CD?

I have a bad u joint, I think in my 85 300SD. Will the driveshaft and u joint from the CD bolt in?

To one end or the other, but not to both ends, it is too short!

I have not compared them, but the SD is a longer wheelbase car than the CD is it not?
the ujoint section of a 240 manual is the same length as a 300Turbo car, but the diameter is substantially smaller. I'll bet the SD is different as well.

Yes, the CD is also shorter than a standard 123 sedan too. I am not sure which shaft is shorter in the CD front or rear.

I wouldn't be surprised if the SD shaft is the same on one of the halfs but, you never know.

As far as I know they have different front lengths.

We are talking about Mercedes Benz here... you're lucky if the splines have the same number of teeth on them.
