Oil bursting onto floor issue...
Hello all
I have a 76 300d w115 with and my issue is that i have oil basically bursting out of the seals in my oil filter housing and or through the bypass hole once the engine builds oil pressure. I cant figure why it is doing this. The filter is installed correctly as per the Mercedes technical article on oil changes for the w115 om617. When i look up into the receiver area for the oil filter housing i see one hole towards the front of the engine, one large one near the center and one towards the rear with a plastic looking thing with three little spikes on it clogging the hole. could this be the issue?* Any ideas and pointers are appreciated. Thanks in advanced. ![]() *(After looking a diagrams it appear that the plastic piece in the hole is on the feeding side of the filter. I need to find out what is causing the build up after or before the filter).

I know of no plastic spike thing in the filter housing , sounds like the top off an oil quart
