Right. The lift pump is just a diaphragm and check valves, it doesn't need protection against anything except debris large enough to jam a check valve open.

On top of that statement, 95% of the fuel pumped through the system gets returned to the fuel tank. Its constantly filtering the
entire fuel tank so multiple fine filters are not needed.
