Race horse set in Donkey mode

There is a youtube video up that shows a stock w116 with the camshaft timing adjusted adv 4 degrees.........injector pump adv 2 degrees......alda backed out all the way and this guy is getting crazy performance out of this stock eng. I am very interested. Are we all driving racehorses in donkey mode? What is the downside to this? This video is very impressive. Search - Mercedes-Benz 300 SD 0-60 MPH Movie.wmv

I've seen the linked video before. I can't wait to get my hands on a turbo model one of these days!

His video on bringing it back from the grave is pretty cool, too.
