Heard that the 1999 E300D torque converter locks up at 3K RPM-any way to lower that?
Fellas,
I have read that the 1999 E300D tranny torque converter doesn't lock up until 3K RPM which is around 80MPH. This means that it isn't as efficient as it could be if it would lock up a little sooner. I like to run around 68MPH generally, and would like to get lockup a little closer to this speed. Is there any way to acheive this? Thanks for the help! Josh |

WOW.
I can't believe MB would even have a lockup TC if 3K is the rpm lock...

That car has an electronic transmission. It can probably lock the TC whenever it wants to.
