If I was nearer I'd come and help. I have the time but I can't justify the cash for getting over to you...

Isn't there going to be a loop hole like when they are on a trailer / car transporter they can't be touched?

When garaged they can't be touched?

Anyone near by with a barn you can borrow?

I have lots of toolboxes, so tools power tools, lifts, jacks etc is not important unless LOTS of members show up! I will setup my hauler truck with tool drawers to make manuvering tools and equipment simple.

I have a 78 616 with a rusty cam available, and a decent running 616 in a nearly pristine all manual but the transmission 240D in ivory.

I will update the first post in the thread tomorrow with a total inventory of what's available to part, and what's gotta go complete car, and what I will be able to move to other sites. I've got offers of barns, and shops to store many of the good vehicles, so fear not this will NOT cause me to crush ANY needed MB parts!

one member called me today, and mentioned needing a fender, but not really justifying a trip down from Connecticut for a fender and I suggested he drive his rustbucket 82 D down, and I swap his drivetrain into my 85 that needs a drivetrain but is otherwise nearly rust free... he's considering it, and I'd be thrilled to do that kind of thing during this party!

how long do you guys think a highly motivated set of mechanics could pull a drivetrain from a running car and drop it into a car with the drivetrain already pulled?

Oh man, VS this sucks so hard. If I had the extra room for a car I'd be down in a heartbeat for that Firebird and something else, but I'm trying to thin the herd myself. Good luck, hope that you can save as much as you can!

I am 4 hours away, I might be able to take a day off from work drive up in my Ram and bring parts a few hours closer to Atlanta from NC.

Would that help anyone?

Rats, you're 9 hours from me ... I really would like to help and actually have room to store some parts and possibly an extra car. But that's a heck of a drive and I wouldn't be able to head down until Saturday morning and have to be back at work Monday. Not ruling it out, but unless I get fired before then it's not likely.
Sorry to hear you're being forced to trim down your herd.

I wish I saw this thread yesterday. I committed to framing a basement just last night. I will make some calls today and see what I can shift around. Would they let you build a carport and or plantings to shield the sightline from the road ?

Wish I had access to something bigger than my 87, I dont have classes this thurs and friday. Regardless, if anyone is bringing anything back to ohio and has some extra room I could use a W124 hood.
